wenn ich es richtig interpretiere:
U1016 , loss of ECM serial data .
das würde auf die Schnittstelle zum TM deuten, alle Sicherungen würde ich dennoch auch überprüfen, da kann
auch ein kurzer Spannungsverlust zum Fehler führen

Hatte den Fehler auch 3 oder 4 Mal, jetzt aber schon lange nicht mehr.
Laut Zippers ist das nix schlimmes:
The U1016 code simply represents the absence of the stock ECM.
Momentary gauge loss has been reported with a relatively small number of motorcycles using the ThunderMax system. If this condition does occur, simply cycling the main power switch will restore the gauges and lights to normal function. Doing this allows the Turn Signal Security Module or Turn Signal Module (as equipped), the instrumentation, ECM and various other sensors to regain proper synchronization. To date there have been no negative effects in regards to the running condition of the engine if this phenomenon should occur.
At your convenience it is strongly recommended that you check the motorcycle for Diagnostic Trouble Codes through the odometer and within the ThunderMax SmartLink software. In addition, make sure the battery cables are clean and secure, inspect the ground contacts for proper installation, clean any scale off of fuses and make sure that any non-original electrical accessories wired on the vehicle are not causing this condition. Temporarily removing or bypassing any accessory device may be a valid test.
So far, we have been unable to reproduce this random event on our test motorcycles with modules that have had this issue in the field. We will continue to monitor and test for a possible cause and, of course, a cure when or if the cause is identified.
